Various changes to the Swiss Code of Obligations entered into force on 1 July 2015. They affect a substantial number of companies in Switzerland, particularly small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) organised as share corporations (AG) or limited liability companies (GmbH). What do these new laws provide?
The Federal Council has issued new regulations on recording of working time, which entered into force on 1 January 2016. The revised rules in the Regulation No. 1 to the Employment Act (Employment Act Regulation 1) are intended to relax the duties on recording working time for employees that have a large degree of freedom in how they structure their work and can generally determine their working times themselves.
Panama is synonymous with its Canal and the Canal dominates much of the discussion in Panama, as I learnt at the International Trademark Association Leadership Meeting I recently attended in Panama City. One particularly interesting discussion that I participated in revolved around the trade in counterfeit goods through the Canal.
